Sziasztok! We are Vanessa and María, the two international volunteers in Talentum Alapítvány. We are introducing this new series of podcasts to help you practise English. We really hope you enjoy the topics and you find them helpful!
Hello! Olá!
My name is Vanessa and I am from Portugal, from a little island called Madeira.
I did my bachelor degree at Porto University in English, so I have been dividing my time between Madeira and Porto and working in English and in the Tourism fields.
While working, I also started to do voluntary work related to English activities and crafts in an Orphanage, and in a kidney disease association.
As you all know, Covid-19 changed our lives.
I could not go to work in Greece as it was planned, so when Hungary popped up, I took my chance.
I guess it paid off since I am here!

Hello everyone! Sziasztok! ¡Hola a todos!
My name is María and I come from Sevilla, a beautiful city in the south of Spain. Since I was a little kid, I’ve always dreamed about taking part in a job that would allow me to somehow help people and change the world for the better. That’s the main reason why I studied my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and also why I decided to take part in this new and exciting adventure!
Even though this is a brand new experience for me, it’s definitely not the first time I participate in a project as a volunteer. Back in Spain, I was part of a volunteer network for the detection of gender-related violence in my University, and I’ve also worked with associations that help integrating children and adults with rare diseases and special needs.
Now my path has led me here, where I hope I can share hundreds of experiences with many different people!
